DEVELOPMENT EVENTS
Middle Eastern Taste Day
During Taste Week we encourage children to expand their palates and learn about gastronomy and nutrition, on a global scale.

During Taste Day on October 14th, your child will be treated to a special hot lunch, where they will feast on Middle Eastern delicacies. This hot lunch is complementary from the school, and is a nod to the theme of 1001 Nights! We hope your child will enjoy it.

If your child is vegetarian or allergic to any of the following foods, please send them to school with a bagged lunch, and let them know not to eat the food being served. Please be aware however, that the lunch will be nut free.

The menu will include:
  • Beef Kabob: Ground chuck beef marinated with onion
  • Chicken Kabob: Boneless/skinless chicken thigh marinated with onion, saffron, garlic, and fresh lemon juice
  • Adass Polo: Saffron rice cooked with green lentil and mini raisins
  • Saffron Rice: Plain Basmati rice decorated with saffron
  • Dolma: Rice, beans, and cilantro stuffing rolled in delicious grape leaves
  • Hummus: Refried garbanzo beans with vegetables and spices
  • Salad Sharazi: Freshly chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and cilantro
  • Lavash & Pita Bread
  • Grapes & Madeleine cookies
